"Black Out" Wednesday

I found an article that I think you may find worth the read. Stephanie Condon, a CBS reporter is talking about the effects of SOPA/PIPA legislation. I think the article is informative and relatively non-biased. It takes a look at the advantages and disadvantages of the bill without really placing an opinion. Check it out http://bit.ly/vZ3Ox5.

Personally, I think the legislation is going too far. I am a big fan of personal responsibility.  Where do we draw the line? How many things need to be regulated before we just put our hands up and say, “okay Uncle Sam, you tell me what to do and what not to.”I’m really not trying to be controversial but sometimes I think a good strong opinion is good for the soul.
SOPA/PIPA is an attempt at controlling the massive amount of foreign “rogue” sites, which there are many of. Forcing U.S. sites to control who is accessing and pushing content through their sites may not sound like too much to ask, and for sites like Google, it’s probably not. For smaller internet businesses and start-ups the cost of protecting their sites could easily be too much for the companies to bear (Condon, 2012).  This legislation could possibly open up the entire World Wide Web to the usual frivolously lawsuits in our “sue” happy society.
I could go on and on (I’m a little opinionated!)
I just wanted a chance to voice my opinion on the subject, let me know what you think!
What’s your opinion about the new legislation, vote now! ------>------->-------->-------->------->
